Welcome to Our New Website!

Along with our website, we also updated our logo and overall brand.

WHY THIS CHANGE? Manna House has been serving the community for more than 50 years and it was time for a refresh. Our old website was out of date and it was difficult to make changes. This site is easier to navigate, tells our story better and makes it easier to receive donations. With the ability to accept recurring donations (weekly, monthly or annually), it helps Manna House to better plan. Donors also have the option to cover Paypal fees, make their donation a recurring one, and even fill out Volunteer forms online.

insight180, a brand consulting and design firm in Ellicott City, MD, offered energy and ideas in a proposal that was hard to refuse. They not only had a clear understanding of what we needed, but they believed in our mission and were able to make recommendations that worked for a small nonprofit, including some new key messaging and a logo refresh. After visiting Manna House at breakfast, insight180 experienced, first hand, the caring interaction between clients, staff and volunteers.

The new logo, which suggests a roof overhead, is punctuated with a small heart, exemplifying the Manna House approach that “heart” is part of everything we do. They were also inspired by the age old proverb “home is where the heart is.” For people experiencing homelessness, poverty or other trials, the idea of “home” can seem elusive. Having the roof on one side and the heart on the other emphasizes that disconnect, and yet the heart is present. Manna House, in a sense, is like home – it’s a safe place where clients can be themselves, be vulnerable and receive care.

We are excited about our new look and looking forward to expanding our reach. And, we’re especially excited at how easy it is for people to donate to the cause. Take a look around and let us know what you think.
